Mirassol is a small football club from the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil.

Many players from Mirassol’s academy have signed contracts with famous clubs. One example is Luiz Araújo. He played for Mirassol when he was younger and later moved to São Paulo FC. His transfer to Lille in 2017 generated around R$ 38 million, and Mirassol received approximately R$ 1.5 million through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism. Later, Araújo was sold by Lille to Atlanta United for roughly R$ 70 million, bringing Mirassol another R$ 3 million. In 2023, Flamengo bought Araújo for R$ 48 million, and Mirassol earned R$ 2.4 million more from this transfer. In total, the club received between R$ 7 and R$ 8 million thanks to these deals, without counting other players developed by the academy.

With this money, Mirassol has built a modern training center, investing around R$ 15 million, and it has improved its management structure. They also invested an additional R$ 8 million to upgrade their stadium, boosting the club’s infrastructure and long-term revenue potential.

To compete at the highest level, Mirassol reinforced both the squad and the technical staff. In 2024, the club brought back striker Cristian Renato, who scored Mirassol’s first-ever point in Brazil’s first division, and signed Fabrício Daniel to strengthen the attack. That long-term vision eventually paid off, generating resources to invest in infrastructure, staff, and players.
